TNF and TNF receptor 1-associated periodic fever syndrome: The pivotal role of an altered TNF receptor in TRAPS pathophysiology supports traditional therapy with etanercept, a fusion molecule of TNF-R2/FcIg [21,25,36], or with other anti-TNF agents such as infliximab, a monoclonal anti-TNF antibody; however, in most cases these therapies were shown to be only partially efficacious [46,47].
