In cattle, EB simplex was associated with a mutation in keratin 5 [5] and dystrophic EB was associated with COL7A1 mutations in cattle [6] and dogs [7] while junctional EB has been diagnosed in sheep (LAMC2 mutation) [8], horses (LAMC2 and LAMA3 mutations) [9-11], and dogs (LAMA3 mutation) [12]. The gene discussed is LAMA3; the disease is epidermolysis bullosa.
