A decrease in albumin of ≥1 g/L and an increase of CRP ≥104 mg/L were associated with an increase in ARDS severity by Berlin category (AUROC 0.72, P = 0.001 with sensitivity 100, specificity (SP) 42, positive predictive value (PPV) 23 and negative predictive value (NPV) 100%; AUROC 0.69, P = 0.04, SN 27, SP 98, PPV 78 and NPV 88%, respectively). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
