PRL and breast carcinoma: In conditional logistic regression analyses adjusting for parity, smoking status, and BMI, there was a positive association between prolactin concentrations and in situ breast cancer risk among all women (pre-and postmenopausal combined), with a statistically significant 35% increase in risk for each one unit increase in prolactin on the continuous log2 scale (ORlog2 = 1.35 (95% CI 1.04, 1.76), Ptrend = 0.03) (Table 2).
