ALB and diabetes mellitus: Multivariate analysis (Figure 2) showed that patients’ age (hazard ratio (HR): 1.1, p = 0.001), diabetes mellitus (HR: 3.9, p <0.001) and smoking habit (HR: 1.3, p <0.001) were all positively associated with an increased risk of all-causes mortality in our PD patients’ population, while serum albumin levels (HR: 0.6, p = 0.001) and residual diuresis (HR: 0.9, p = 0.04) were negatively correlated.
