Four other genes associated with schizophrenia (TCF4 (transcription factor 4), CACNA1C (calcium channel, voltage-dependent, L type, alpha 1C subunit), CSMD1 (CUB and Sushi multiple domains 1) and C10orf26 (chromosome 10 open reading frame 26) contain predicted target-binding sites for miR-137, what indicates that the expression levels of these genes could also be affected by the mechanisms described above [17,19]). This evidence concerns the gene WBP1L and schizophrenia.
