Novel autoantibodies, anti-SP1, anti-CA6 and anti-PSP, identify patients with dry eyes and dry mouth and low focus scores on lip biopsies while anti-Ro and anti-La, which are currently in the diagnostic criteria for Sjogren’s syndrome occur more in patients with high focus scores on lip biopsy than in patients with low focus scores on lip biopsy. Here, BPIFA2 is linked to Sjogren syndrome.
