The RT-qPCR results show a positive correlation between PAX3 and MITF expression, whereas PAX3 inversely correlates with BRN2. This was most noticeable in WM115 melanoma cells, showing highest BRN2 expression and lowest PAX3 expression, and complete loss of MITF. Again the discrepancy is seen for PAX3 mRNA and protein levels in WM115 cells, suggesting post-translational regulatory mechanisms are in place here. Here, PAX3 is linked to melanoma.
