In glioma, genome-wide association studies have identified common genetic variations in 7 genes that increase glioma risk (TERT, EGFR, CCDC26, CDKN2A, CDKN2B, PHLDB1 and RTEL1) but BRCA1 is not among them and there is no known association between BRCA1 gene and glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) [6-8].
