HCC invasive cells produced high levels of the connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) and generated tumor with high stromal component in vivo. The use of transforming growth factor beta (TGFB) inhibitor was shown to inhibit tumor specific neoangiogenesis and to interrupt their cross talk, thus inhibiting tumor progression [3,4].
