In order to evaluate the relevance of ROS during CGN development, we tested the effect of two antioxidants, the mimetic of glutathione peroxidase Ebselen (Parnham and Kindt, 1984) and the mimetic of superoxide dismutase and catalase Euk-134 (Baker et al., 1998), as well as two general inhibitors of NOX1-2, AEBSF and apocynin (Diatchuk et al., 1997; Cheret et al., 2008; Hernandez-Enriquez et al., 2011; Dvoriantchikova et al., 2012; Lu et al., 2012) on the expression of Tau and MAP2 during CGN development. This evidence concerns the gene NOX1 and childhood gender nonconformity.
