RPS6 and juvenile Huntington disease: • In S. cerevisiae: enhanced transcription of genes encoding heat-shock proteins and molecular chaperones [68] • In Sch. pombe: decelerated growth, G2 cell-cycle arrest, altered transcription of many nuclear genes, attenuated protein synthesis and inhibited phosphorylation of ribosomal S6 proteins [69] • In C. elegans: delayed onset of paralysis and reduced protein aggregation in nematode models of the Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s diseases [70,71]
