Emma et al. demonstrated that PTPN12 silencing enhances cell migration in ovarian cancer SKOV-3 cells, through focal adhesion kinase (FAK, a focal adhesion-associated protein kinase involved in cellular adhesion and spreading processes, and it often up-regulated in cancer cells [18-20] phosphorylation at Y397 [21].
