In another RCT, Harrison et al. [101] randomised patients with biopsy-proven NASH to a 1400 kcal/day diet and 800 IU vitamin E/day with or without orlistat (the same dose with respect to the previous study but for 9 months) and demonstrated no significant improvement in AST/ALT levels, weight, insulin sensitivity, and liver histology.
