It has been established that interleukin-6 (IL-6) is the most important survival and growth factor in myeloma cells [19] and regulated at least 3 pathways, namely JAK2/STAT3, MAPK/ERK, and PI3K/AKT [20], thus targeting IL-6-mediated signaling pathways is a promosing therapeutic strategy in MM [21–23]. Here, AKT1 is linked to Miyoshi myopathy.
