In our study, we identified that miR-506 was down-regulated in NPC cell lines and tissues, and miR-506 was further identified to be a tumor suppressor, as overexpression of miR-506 in NPC cell lines can inhibit cell proliferation and invasion by targeting Forkhead box Q1 (FOXQ1). The gene discussed is FOXQ1; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
