Very recently, PHRF1 is demonstrated as a tumor suppressor responsible for the ubiquitination of TGIF to release cPML and promote the TGF-β cytostatic program.23 In an effort to illustrate the function of PHRF1 in DNA damage response, we analyzed cellular responses to genotoxic treatments in PHRF1-knockdown and -overexpressing cells. The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is neoplasm.
