KRAS and metastatic malignant neoplasm: The higher levels of apoptosis determined by the ViaCount assay and the different cellular response pattern induced by IQc compounds in cancer cells compared to the standard anticancer drug 5-FU and the established G4 ligand TMPyP4, suggest that IQcs, particularly 3d, which is notable for its apparent ability to induce high levels of apoptosis in metastatic cancer cells, merit further investigation of their mechanism of action, as they may constitute leads for the development of a novel therapeutic agent targeting KRAS-dependent cancers.
