Since HIF-1α is well-known as the major transcription factor of hypoxia and has been reported to regulate the expression of several miRNAs [3], we transfected an HIF-1α expression vector to ovarian cancer cells under normoxia and assessed miR-199a-3p expression; however, miR-199a-3p expression was not altered by HIF-1α overexpression (Supplemental Figure 2A and 2B), suggesting that alternative pathways other than HIF signaling might be involved in the regulation of miR-199a-3p. This evidence concerns the gene HIF1A and ovarian carcinoma.
