In the relevant literature [4–8], adrenal enlargement can result from endocrine disorders, such as adrenocorticotropic hormone- (ACTH-) dependent or independent Cushing syndrome, PA, multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN-1), and congenital adrenal hyperplasia. The gene discussed is POMC; the disease is Cushing syndrome due to macronodular adrenal hyperplasia.
