Dalamaga et al. [22] hypothesized that visfatin, one of the measured adipokines in our study, by exhibiting proliferative, antiapoptotic, proinflammatory, and proangiogenic properties may be involved in the etiopathogenesis of postmenopausal BC and may represent a missing link between obesity and postmenopausal BC. This evidence concerns the gene NAMPT and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
