NTRK2 and lung carcinoma: 22, 23 Anoikis resistance is one of the hallmarks of oncogenic EMT,24, 25 and ZEB1 is required for the neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor, TrkB-induced EMT, anoikis resistance and metastasis.26 Similarly, p66Shc depletion contributes to anoikis resistance and promotes metastasis in human lung cancer cells.22 Therefore, it is possible that aberrant expression of p66Shc may lead to the activation of a developmentally regulated fibrotic EMT response in lung cancer cells.
