The 68.11% specificity falls within the range of 60.3% to 75% reported by some studies,14,34,35 but it is clearly lower than the specificity reported for other cohorts that exhibited 93.5% to 97.4% specificity.16,36 This significant discrepancy in GP73's specificity in HCC diagnosis can be partly explained by differences in the disease stages of patients, but may also be a result of the different antibodies used for the ELISA in each study. This evidence concerns the gene GOLM1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
