INS and Insulin resistance: Similar to our results, in the study by Nandeesha et al. [55] on 88 men, HOMA was significantly higher in men with BPH, and similar to fasting insulin levels (average: 237.4 pmol/L vs. control group 134.7 pmol/L, p < 0.001); the researchers indicated that insulin resistance may be an independent risk factor for the development of BPH.
