Our study in prostate demonstrated that, in comparison to the moderate to strong immunohistochemical expression in benign luminal cells of prostate glands and low grade (Gleason’s pattern 3) prostate cancer, expression of PLZF was significantly decreased or lost in vast majority (84%) of metastatic prostate cancer and in 26% of high grade primary PCa. The gene discussed is ZBTB16; the disease is metastatic prostate carcinoma.
