In conclusion, our results provide new, original information on key growth factors (GH/IGF-I axis) likely involved in the dysregulation of endocrine/metabolic homeostasis of MFPs in obesity, and indicate that endogenous CORT and SST may be directly involved in the obesity-induced changes observed in GH/IGF-I system in MFPs. This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
