LRG1 and ovarian cancer: Recently, through peptidome analysis of urine from 6 ovarian cancer patients and 6 healthy controls, Smith et al.[22] found the high abundance of LRG1 peptides in all of the samples from ovarian cancer patients, and only one peptide from one healthy control, indicating LRG1 may serve as potential urine biomarker for detection of ovarian cancer after further validation using larger numbers of urine samples.
