In our current efforts to explore the functional role of VASH1 in the pathogenesis of human colon cancer, we performed immunohistochemical staining of VASH1 in colon cancer tissues and paired paracancerous normal tissues from patients with different stages of primary colon cancer, and retrospectively analyzed the correlations between the cancer stroma VASH1 levels with tumor stages, metastases, prognostic factors and clinical outcome of patients. This evidence concerns the gene VASH1 and malignant colon neoplasm.
