[54] reported that B. pauloensis crude venom causes partial blockade of directly evoked muscular contractions in BC preparations; in 2007, the authors suggested that neuwieditoxin-I and -II (Asp49 PLA2s) from B. pauloensis venom were probably responsible for the venom presynaptic neurotoxicity in vitro.
