Previous studies have determined that breast cancer patients with high Ki-67 scores had poorer relapse-free survival rates than patients with low Ki-67 scores (25), therefore, breast cancer stem-like cells may potentially be associated with Ki-67 expression, providing a novel assessment method for pathologists to evaluate the Ki-67 scores, as opposed to counting positive and negative cells (26,27).
