Curcumin is known to inhibit TGF-β signaling in breast and pancreatic cancers [29, 30] while emodin is known to differentially regulate TGF-β signaling in a context dependent manner [31, 32], however, the effect of these phytochemicals on TGF-β signaling in cervical cancer cells remains to be studied. The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is cervical cancer.
