The VEGFR-2 (vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2) antagonist ramucirumab, as reported in the REGARD trial, demonstrated modest activity in patients with advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma who had disease progression after first-line platinum-containing or fluoropyrimidine-containing chemotherapy [64]. This evidence concerns the gene KDR and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma.
