HLA-A and infection: In further support of this conclusion, at one year post infection there were no significant differences in the consensus to variant epitope proportions (28.4% to 71.6%, respectively) in individuals possessing the restricting HLA-A alleles, compared to the respective proportions (23.3% consensus to 76.7% variant) observed in those individuals not possessing the selecting HLA-A alleles (Fig. 4B).
