AR and prostate cancer: Trinucleotide repeat disorders are the most abundant forms of repeat expansion diseases associated with oncological pathologies.29 The classic example is the androgen receptor gene polymorphisms, a CAG and a GGC trinucleotide repeats in exon 1, the length of which have been linked to prostate cancer survival and breast cancer risk.30 Sequencing across GGC repeats is problematic, and as such, we have yet to compare CNV frequency between primary aldosteronism patients and healthy controls in sufficient numbers.
