HMGB1 overexpression has been observed in many cancers such as colon cancer [29], gastrointestinal stromal tumors [30], melanoma [31], hepatocellular carcinoma [32], and glioma [33], and HMGB1 promotes cell growth and/or migration during the above tumor pathology. Here, HMGB1 is linked to malignant colon neoplasm.
