Next, in order to confirm whether CXCL14 would have a tumor suppressing effect on cells of other tissue origins, we produced transgenic (Tg) mice expressing 10-fold higher blood CXCL14 compared with the level produced by isogenic wild-type C57BL/6 (Wt) mice and found that these Tg mice significantly suppressed increase in the size of tumours formed by transplanted B16 melanoma cells or Lewis lung carcinoma (LLC) cells compared with Wt mice17, 21. Here, CXCL14 is linked to melanoma.
