It has been found [11] that in 96% of patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinomas, the immunoexpression of P63 was present in over 30% of the cells, while in another study [14] the P63 cell-immunostaining cut-off was set at 50% and it was expressed in 95% of the patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. The gene discussed is TP63; the disease is laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
