Of note, preliminary results from our group indicate that co-expression of miR-101 and a Mcl-1 form lacking the 3′ untranslated region (thus impeding the binding of Mcl-1 to miR-101) via hydrodynamic transfection leads to the impairment of miR-101 tumor suppressor activity in AKT/Ras and c-Myc mice.
