To investigate the possibility that EPA could induce expression of BRCA1 in breast cancer cells, we used MCF-7 human breast cancer cells and HME-Rho C cells, a human breast epithelial cell line transformed by stable expression of the Rho oncogene [40], and analyzed BRCA1 expression by western blot analysis of nuclear fractions. The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
