As shown in Fig. 4E and F, HSP patients at acute stage had higher IL-8 (187.7 ± 129.8 vs 65.4 ± 41.6 pg/ml, p < 0.001) as well as MCP-1 (353.3 ± 296.1 vs 204.8 ± 101.3 pg/ml, p = 0.013) levels than healthy controls. The gene discussed is CCL2; the disease is hereditary spastic paraplegia.
