For IHC determinations, the protein levels were more difficult to determine and compare than mRNA levels since the localization of LASP-1 protein was nuclear, cytoplasmic or both; we believe that LASP-1 mRNA levels are better quantifiable and in this study it allowed the stratification of the cases on the basis of the gender and the presence of hepatic cirrhosis as a background liver disease. This evidence concerns the gene LASP1 and Cirrhosis.
