Skin sensitization is primary associated with induction of Th1 cells, promoting a cytotoxic CD8+ T-cell response and secretion of IL-2 and interferon (IFN)-γ, while respiratory sensitization generally involve CD4+ Th2 cells and are characterized by high levels of IL-4, IL-10 and IL-13. Here, CD4 is linked to hypersensitivity reaction disease.
