Consistent with previous reports regarding the critical role of PGE2 in CRC (Castellone et al., 2005, Chulada et al., 2000, Oshima et al., 1996, Sonoshita et al., 2001), we also observed the overexpression of microsomal prostaglandin E synthase-1 (mPGES-1, the rate-limiting enzyme for PGE2 biosynthesis) during CRC progression. The gene discussed is PTGES; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
