Our laboratory demonstrates that TGF-β/Smad3 signaling is able to regulate the transcription of miR-21, miR-192, miR-433, and the miR-29 family during renal diseases (Chung et al., 2010a; Qin et al., 2011; Zhong et al., 2011; Li et al., 2013a) (Figure 1). This evidence concerns the gene SMAD3 and kidney disorder.
