In this study, our results demonstrated that VHL and p300, along with ZBRK1, form an activator complex on VHL promoter via a ZBRK1 recognition element (Figure 7A), and RT–qPCR analysis demonstrated that 22 of 24 renal cancer specimens expressed significantly reduced amounts of ZBRK1 RNA when compared with the normal tissues, among these, 19 of 22 renal cancer specimens expressed significantly reduced amounts of VHL expression (Figure 7B). This evidence concerns the gene VHL and renal carcinoma.
