Our observation is in line with the study by di Paola et al. (2010), in which a quinic acid derivative, 3,5-dicaffeoyl-4-maloquinic acid, administered orally reduced MPO levels and inhibited NF-κB activity in experimental colitis induced by i.c. instillation of dinitrobenzenesulphonic acid (DNBS) in rats. Here, NFKB1 is linked to colitis.
