Using chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), we quantified the H3K4me3 histone modification associated with active genes, the H3K9me3 and H3K27me3 modifications associated with repression, and H4K16ac, a marker of transcriptional competence but also of fixed nucleosomes, at the DLK1 promoter, the IG DMR and the MEG3 DMR in normal urothelial cells, HepG2 cells and seven urothelial carcinoma cell lines (Figure 6 and [see Additional file 1: Figure S4]). Here, MEG3 is linked to urothelial carcinoma.
