S100A4 and glioblastoma: In view of these data and based on our previous results showing that C/EBPβ plays an important role in the progression of tumorigenicity of glioblastoma cells, we finally analyzed whether C/EBPβ interference could also exert an antiproliferative effect on glioblastoma stem cells by analyzing its effect in glioblastoma-derived neurospheres (GNSF) and also if S100A4 levels were down-regulated in C/EBPβ-depleted GNSFs.
