GSTP1 and APC exhibited hypermethylation in the majority of the PCa samples (the positive rate in poorly-differentiated tissues was 83.3% and 73.3%, respectively), while hypomethylation (or demethylation) was observed in BPH samples (the positive rate was 10.0% and 20.0%, respectively, P<0.05; Fig. 3, Table III). Here, GSTP1 is linked to benign prostatic hyperplasia.
