A large fraction (≥75%) of BSC1 cells stained positive for B5 at 24 hours post-infection, whereas only a limited number (≤5%) of RK13 cells were positive for B5 (Fig. 6B; representative results are shown for only the wild-type RK13 cells but similar results were also obtained for the RK13+E3L and E3L+K3L lines). The gene discussed is SLC12A1; the disease is infection.
